Awasu 2.0.2.alpha2

IMPORTANT: This is an alpha release. Some features are not complete and you will find bugs!

You must already be running 2.0.2.alpha1. Installation is straight-forward:

• Read the release notes below first!
• Backup your Awasu installation directory.
• Unpack one (!) of the following zips on top of your existing installation:
  • Personal Edition (NT/2K/XP)
  • Advanced Edition (NT/2K/XP)
  • Personal Edition (98/Me)
  • Advanced Edition (98/Me)
• Run ArchiveMaintenance.exe to rebuild the search index for all your existing content.

Release notes

• Added search agents. These monitor incoming content and flag items and channels that match the search terms you are interested in. For example, you might want to watch for items that match "Saddam Hussein trial" or "Longhorn AND Avalon".

  There is a new tab in the Control Center that shows your search agents and you can create new ones by choosing File|New search agent. Channels and items that have been matched by a search agent are flagged with a different icon and you can also specify that they be shown in different colours.
  
  

• Added the ability to restrict searches to range of dates.
  
  
• The search index now does stemming i.e. searching for "house" will also find "housing", "housed", etc.
  
  
• Stopwords are now read from a file ($/Search/StopWords.txt). Stop words are commonly-used words that are ignored by the search engine (since they occur so frequently, they can skew search results). If you change the list of words, you must rebuild the search index using ArchiveMaintenance.exe.
  
  
• The query parser is still flaky but I've tried to stop it from crashing Awasu. It might still sometimes fall over (especially in the 98/Me version) but it's better than before.
  
  
• Added the ability for plugins to store their own data in channel config files (.CHANNEL) and the global options file (CONFIG.INI).
  
  
• Bug fixes and optimizations.
