Awasu 2.3

Welcome to the Awasu 2.3 release!

The major changes in this release are:

Synchronization with other feed readers (e.g. Bloglines and Google Reader) [?].

Added metadata modules that allow custom information to be extracted from feeds [?].

A much-improved template processing engine [?].
Support for running in other languages.

Download and install

Please check which version of Awasu you are currently running. [?]

Then follow the instructions below on how to download and install Awasu.

Known issues

People using Windows Media Edition or Tablet Edition may see flickering when opening some web pages. If this happens, open the Program Options dialog, go to the Advanced page and untick Enable auto-discovery.
You may see some of the new toolbars above your menubar when you first run the new version. If this happens, just drag and drop the menubar into the correct place.

Language packs

This version of Awasu can be run in languages other than English. Simply download one of the ZIP files below and unpack it to the specified directory.

Then restart Awasu and change the language from the Tools|Language menu.

If you'd like to provide a translation in your favorite language, please let us know and we'll get you set up.

Customization

Customized versions of Awasu are a great way to help your clients get set up with a feed reader, preloaded with your feeds and branded with your corporate identity!

We can also make other custom changes to Awasu and provide you with your very own customized version of everyone's favorite feed reader.

Extensions

Many people have written channel templates, plugins, channel hooks and other extensions that add new features to Awasu, or just make it cooler to use.

Just head over to the Awasu Wiki where they are all available for free download.

Awasu is at least head and shoulders above all the other news readers out there, which is why I won't recommend any of the others. They just don't come close.
