Awasu 2.4.2.alpha2

IMPORTANT: This is an alpha release (what's this?). Some features may not be complete and there will probably be bugs!

You must be already running 2.4.1 or 2.4.2.alpha1.

To install:

• Read the release notes below first!
• Backup your Awasu installation directory and keep it, even if the alpha appears to work correctly.
• Unpack one (!) of the following zips on top of your existing installation:
  • Personal Edition
  • Advanced Edition
  • Professional Edition
• Run admin.exe to upgrade your database (this will be quick).

New features

• Channels and reports can now be accessed via the HTTP API:
  
  $/channels/get

  Get a channel's summary page.

  Any combination of channel ID, name and/or filter(s) may be specified, but only one channel must match.

  Parameters:

  id	Channel ID.
  name (n)	Channel name.
  filter	Channel filter name(s).
  showFeedItemsMode (sfim)	Controls which feed items will be shown (default|all|unread|new).
  feedItemDescriptionFormat (fidf)	Controls the presentation of feed item content (default|full|excerpt|plainText).

  $/reports/get

  Run a channel report and return the results.

  Any combination of report ID and/or name may be specified, but only one report must match.

  Parameters:

  id	Channel report ID.
  name (n)	Channel report name.
  contentType	MIME type to return in the response. Awasu will attempt to auto-detect HTML responses and set the MIME type to text/html.



• Awasu's search engine can now be accessed via the HTTP API:
  
  $/search/query

  Submit a query to Awasu's search engine.

  Submit a blank search request in HTML format (i.e. $/search/query?f=html) to get a web page where queries can be submitted from.

  Parameters:

  format (f)	Format to return the results in (xml|json|html).
  query (q)	Query string.
  escape	Flags if special characters in the query string should be auto-escaped.
  age	How old search results may be (days).
  locations (l)	Where to search (url|title|content).
  minScore (ms)	Minimum score for search results (0-100).
  page (p)	Page number (1-based) to return (if results are being paginated).
  pageSize (ps)	Number of results to show per page.
  feedItemDescriptionFormat (fidf)	Controls the presentation of feed item content (default|full|excerpt|plainText).

Minor changes and bug fixes

• The HTTP API can now return compressed responses (set the Accept-Encoding request header to gzip).
• Regular expression processing is now disabled in HTTP API requests by default (add regex=1 (or re=1) to the request to enable it).
  The affected parameters are:

  • Channel names in a $/channels/list request.
  • Channel names in a $/channels/open request.
  • Channel names in a $/channels/get request.
  • Report names in a $/reports/list request.
  • Report names in a $/reports/get request.
  • Workpad names in a $/workpads/list request.
  • Workpad names in a $/workpads/feed request.
  • Workpad names in a $/workpads/clear request.
  • Workpad names in a $/workpads/addItem request.

  By default, Awasu will attempt to match the passed-in parameter to the start of object name e.g. "awas" will match "Awasu" but not "sawas dee".
• Tidied up and standardized the HTTP API response template files.
• The HTTP API now decodes special characters in request URL's correctly.
