My last observation: Awasu just released the CPU. It took less than ten minutes for updating 74 channels, but then held on to the CPU for another half hour (and does so regularly, indeed may go on longer without me intervening and killing some connections.) Joerg BTW, since email seems to be "termin...

More info: This time, I saw that Awasu finished updating. The activity log has all the appropriate data; the "Awasu log" remains empty, while the error log also has two entries. CPU still at 90%. TCPView shows Awasu using seven to eight connections still. I can close two - one is CLOSE_WAIT, the oth...

To make this clear: config.ini has a setting of 1000 msgs for the logs, but they are just nowhere to be seen. And, well, the channels do get updated - in batches of about 20. In between the batches, nothing happens - except that Awasu keeps hogging the CPU. A variant of the whole thing is that Awasu...

CPU usage

Same problem here. Those log files have a length of 0!

CPU time

Hi! I love Awasu, but what it does to the CPU is just not healthy. Process Explorer tells me that it uses 70-100% of the CPU. O.k., mshta.exe is involved, but I can suspend that and see that Awasu takes up the slack. When I resume mshta.exe, Awasu goes down and mshta.exe eats CPU again - so that´s p...

"Open in default browser"...

No, not clicking on a link, since the point is, of course, to open the item itself - not some embedded link. I hope that this bug can be repaired because I am not yet ready to use Awasu as my only browser (it would have to have an option for saving items in the mht-format for me to take that step - ...

"Open in default browser"...

... doesn´t consistently work in my installation. Very often clicking this option just opens a Windows Explorer-window at C:\Program Files\Awasu. My default browser, however, is MyIE. About half of the time this feature works as intended. Initially I thought the misdirection only occurred when the p...

Channel filter setting

I have a suggestion  which might or might not be seconded by others. What I would like to see is Awasu saving information about the currently applied channel filter on program exit (or immediately when the selection is made) so it can restore the GUI to that state when the user fires up Awasu ...

Just used the "Organize Favourites" function. Basically, this does what I wanted even better, since now I have keyboard-driven access to feeds in a non-sequential mode. Of, course, it goes to show that one should first lookm at all the options a piece of software has on offer...

New command suggestion

Just having been converted to operating Awasu mostly by using the keyboard, feature greed sets in.

Specifically: I would like to have commands for moving one feed forward resp. backward. Somehow I cannot imagine anyone not wishing to have them... -:)

I have seen the light. Yes, F8 works. What does not work as expected are those nice arrow buttons on the navbar. And I have not checked whether they are listed as known issue or as-yet-unimplemented here. But, now that I have assigned item navigation to the cursor keys, I could not care less. Actual...

Did as you advised me to do. No change. However, on looking closer, I come to the conclusion that there are two effects I observed that are not interrelated. 1) The navbar switches not from one read item to the next unread item preceding or following it but to the next or preceding item that was alr...

Just saw how there were 680+ views of this entry.
Actually, my IE was going bonkers and kept opening new windows until I shut the machine down.
Such is the state of software engineering in Redmond...

Prefetch

I guess you are right. Odd thing is that opting for a faster broadband version (here in Germany you can choose from 128k, 256k, 384k, 512k, 768k, 1.4m for your DSL line) does not have much effect on browsing. ftp is accelerated linearly, but browsing just is not. I do not think I am particularly dem...

A suggestion for Pro or Advanced

A suggestion for Pro or Advanced would be to have prefetching implemented. Newsmonster does it. Well, Newsmonster is said to also be be a crawler because it seems to save the stuff. I really mean prefetch - even on broadband "page-turning" is often slow: the most obvious bottleneck that even fast ma...
