Re: FeedDeamon 4.5 migration to Awasu

In regards to displaying custom ITEM-METADATA in the item pane, I have a couple of Metadata Modules extensions which demonstrate this: http://www.awasu.com/wiki/GeoRSS_Metadata_module http://www.awasu.com/wiki/ShakeMap_Metadata_module In regards to displaying custom CHANNEL-METADATA in the item pane...

Re: Filters

Sigh... I didn't think of that - you want a job? I'm just happy to help. :) Pairing Search Channel's with the Send Email Channel Hook was one of my favorite combo features of Awasu 8+ years ago, and it remains so to this day. I s'pose it's indicative of the power of Awasu that you can combin...

Re: Filters

What about specifying your keywords in an Awasu Search Channel and then attaching the Send Email Channel Hook to the newly-created Search Channel? You can even use SMTP-to-SMS gateways to send text messages to plain old cell phones; here's a partial list of US-based SMTP-to-SMS gateways: https://en....

Re: Website changes monitor?

It looks like Check & Get isn't supported anymore; I was going to suggest Copernic Tracker which I used for many years, but it's no longer for sale and will be unsupport April 30st 2016. FWIW, Taka and I have previously discussed a Webscrape-like Awasu plugin that would either use XPath-like exp...

Re: Windows 10 compatibility?

I guess you haven't got VMware yet No, I'm not a professional software developer who needs to support a product, I'm just an run-of-the-mill guy with simple computing needs. There's a lot of VMware products, which one do you use? Fusion, Fusion Pro, Workstation? You're a brave man for upgrading to ...

Windows 10 compatibility?

Have you tested Awasu with Windows 10 yet? I reserved my free Windows 10 upgrades on my two Windows 7 PCs, and I keep getting the upgrade reminder on them every week. I guessing Awasu will probably run fine on Windows 10, but I thought I'd ask first, because... if there is a problem with Awasu and W...

Re: Random characters on the end of config files

This page compares Atom 1.0 and RSS 2.0
The Payload section discusses the different content types, although it may be a little out of sync with the final Atom specification's description of content types.

I just created this "Send-to" tool and it worked great! As for other solutions you might want to take a look at these pages: ⋅  Inserting Awasu Data Into Microsoft Word Explains how to use the Awasu API with Word's INCLUDETEXT field. ⋅  Inserting Awasu Data Into Microso...

Re: Problems with Twitter Feed/RSS and Syncing Awasu on othe

Hey, good to see you're still alive... ::-): Good to be alive. Good to be back on Awasu forums. I'll be much more alive in a few more months. I'll email with some of the details but I can run the code in the PyScripter IDE and it works fine, from the command line, I'm getting some additional...

Re: Problems with Twitter Feed/RSS and Syncing Awasu on othe

Hi Charlie, I'm a happy 6-year Awasu Pro user... I haven't sync'd between PCs before so I can't help you with that but, regarding Twitter and Awasu, about a year ago I started working on a Channel Plugin for Awasu that will allow you to subscribe to one or more Twitterer's Tweets as an RSS feed. I'v...

Re: Using Awasu as RSS reader for SharePoint

This probably won't help, but I'll mention it anyway: Awasu allows you to control how long a feed item is archived, with the minimum value being 1 day. This "Keep content for" setting can be set globally and/or individually on a feed-by-feed basis. So you could easily set Awasu to do a ful...

Ok I created a couple of simple PHP pages to test this I'm this sure this will work. import datetime import random import re import urllib2 # define the URLs as a Dictionary with an initial count of zero # add more links as necessary urls = { "link1" : "0" , "link2" : &...

Re: Help with a plugin

Now that I had more time to look at this, I realize that the error you received was because your values are actually string data type even though they contain a number, they need to be explicitly converted to a number, where in my random number example I was always dealing with a integer data type. ...

Re: Help with a plugin

It might be that one of the links isn't returning a number and that's why the sum() function is failing. Also, looking back I see that I probably shouldn't have used the "sum" for a variable name since it's also a built in function name, although it didn't cause a problem for me, it's not ...
