Hi Taka,
I just looked at a couple of my workpads and the links I had stored there are not there. Does the content of workpads expire, and if so, is there any way to retain it? Otherwise, how can I get my data back?
Thanks!
Sue

No. Workpads can be configured to automatically remove items when you click through so that might be why they've gone.

The only time items are removed from a workpad is if you click through or you manually remove them.

The code that takes care of all of this is very straight-forward and it's unlikely there's a subtle bug causing items to occasionally disappear. Keep an eye out for it and let us know if it happens again.

Taka,
I had a large number of links in other workpads and need to recover them. I haven't clicked them however Awasu crashed twice lately so I am suspecting that's when they were lost. What file are they contained in? I'll restore it from a previous snapshot.
Thanks,
Sue

The database should never get corrupted, even in the event of a crash

Workpad items are stored in archive2.db You *might* be able to get away with restoring just this file (although it might be a better idea to restore it, get your links out, and then put the old file back).

ok, thanks Taka. I've only added 5 or so links to the new workpad, so my old one is much more important. I'll save my new links to another file, restore my old file, then add my new links. I have absolutely no idea what happened, but Awasu suffered 2 very bad crashes.
many thanks,
Sue

If it doesn't work, just send me your archive2.db file and I can extract the links from it.

Hi Taka,
thanks so much. It did work and I have now added the new links from these past days, so all is well. What a relief!
