Yep! There will be a paid version coming soon that will have a whole bunch of extra features but the free version will always be fully functional and have heaps of stuff in it.

Usability is always something we've focused on. I've always loved software that did little things like this, quietly in the background so that you hardly notice it, that makes using it so much more enjoyable.

You can do this already. Choose File, Close from the main menu or click on the little X in the top right-hand corner or press CTRL-F4. Also, depending on the version you have, right-clicking on the MDI tab will bring up a menu that has an option to close the tab.
