Q1) Can I use my Gmail account with the Email channel hook?

Q2) If I were to use my work Outlook email account, does the channel hook place the items in my outbox?

The <i>SendEmail</i> channel hook needs to be told where to find an SMTP server. This is a server that knows how to send emails to another computer.

You would need to configure the hook to use your corporate SMTP server i.e. MS Exchange. Awasu would talk directly to it, bypassing Outlook running on your desktop, so I would imagine that emails sent would not appear in your Outbox. Having said that, if the emails are being sent using your email address, Outlook might see them in the Exchange server being sent from your address and make them appear in your Outbox, even thought they hadn't actually been sent from Outlook. Give it a go...

It's a generic failure code. Open the channel's Properties dialog and open the <tt>SendEmail</tt> hook. In the <i>Logs</i> page, tick the <i>Enable logging</i> box and the next time the hook runs, it will log some extra stuff that should help track down the problem.
