I've installed Awasu 2.0 Personal on a Windows 2000 Server SP4 machine, .NET 1.1.
When I try to launch the program no window comes up and I have to kill the process awasu.exe manually... Any clue? Michele Dell'Aquila |

Create a file called DEBUG.INI in your user's home directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Awasu\Users\YOUR-NAME) that looks like this: Code: [MessageLog] Startup=1 Run Awasu again and send me the file Logs\Awasu.log. |

I have now tried installing Awasu 2.0 on 3 machines. 2 failed with behaviour described and 1 worked.
Failed - Win2k SP4 server - Awasu 1.2 installed previously Success - Win2003 server - Nothing previously installed Failed - XP Pro SP1 - Nothing previously installed I look forward to hearing what you find out. |

Please set up the DEBUG.INI file as well (as described above) and send me the results (support@awasu.com).
Thanks. |

I get this same behavior. I put a DEBUG.INI file in C:\Program Files\Awasu (there was no "USERS" subdirectory). And I cannot find any resulting log file when I try to run it again.
Any ideas? thanks |

OS: Windows 2000 AS
Downloaded Awasu Personal today (18 March) Installed no problems, tried to run: nothing. It's jsut sitting there in the task list using no CPU. I would have set the debug options as you advised the previous posters, but there is no Users folder under F:\Program Files\Awasu to put it in! Any ideas? Martin |

We're still trying to resolve this one but it's totally weird. Can you try deleting the Awasu directory and installing 1.2. It you're at all technical, please send me an email at support@awasu.com so that we can try a few things. Cheers Taka |

I discovered, through using profiling with Dependency Walker, my problem was caused by a conflict with a shell extension called TortoiseCVS, which is used to provide access to CVS from within Windows Explorer. The problem was actually a memory access error.
Once I uninstalled TortoiseCVS then Awasu worked fine. |

Indeed, I am using TortoiseCVS, but I don't want to un-install it. Never would have figured this out. Nicely done.

At Taka's suggestion I tried out the Windows 98 edition of Awasu and it does work with TortoiseCVS.

Same problem for me here... (Win2000) and i indeed use TortoiseCVS. Any workaround yet?
Btw, I uninstalled version 2.0 and reinstalled version 1.2 and it worked fine. |

Use the 98/Me version of 2.0 - it seems to work with Tortoise installed. This version runs happily on NT/2K/XP and differs only in some very minor ways.
