Almost all MS applications and many non-ms support click middle-mouse-button to enable window scrolling without using the vertical scrollbar. This would be a very nice function in the headlines list box.

I just use the scroll wheel :-) You can also use Ctrl-Up/Down.

Personally, I think that if you have so many headlines that you need to scroll, then that's too many. You can control what gets displayed e.g. last 25 items or items from the last 3 days.
