From Support. Sigh...

Sorry, yes it was.

This is puzzling. Do you have "Mark as read"? And are you talking about in the Edit menu or the context menu when you right-click in the item pane i.e. the top part of a channel's window?
To run 1.0.2, you need to have installed 1.0, then 1.0.1 and then 1.0.2. You've done this, right? Somebody else reported this but we tracked it down to him having installed 1.0.1 and then going back to 1.0 and then installing 1.0.1 again. Or so we thought...
Awasu writes out to the registry when it shuts down so you need to make sure it has gone before deleting the registry key. This can take a while even after the main window has closed so you *must* use Task Manager to determine when it really has finished (I'm going to fix this Real Soon (tm)).
The other thing to try is install 1.0, run it, check what's in the menus, exit, make sure it's gone, repeat for 1.0.1 and then 1.0.2. A pain but I'm a bit stumped as to what this might be.
Sorry for the inconvenience. The customizable menus and toolbars and keyboard shortcuts are a really cool feature but are handled by a third-party toolkit.
