I currently use Awasu for integrating RSS feeds within our intranet.

I'm very impressed with the current feature set

I have researched many RSS solutions (some much much more expense than Awasu) and none come close to the features and power and custimisation capability of Awasu.

My wishlist is as follows:

1) I feed new channel items to our intranet via the Channel reports and FTP options. This works great execept for 2 outsanding issues.

- I can only create reports every 60 minutes there does not seem to be an option to auto create reports every 10 minutes. Do I need to upgrade to Professional Edition?

- The new channel items are grouped by Channel in the reports. I need to be able to list (report) the new items latest first.

I know that there is the Channel hook option but I do not have developement resources for this project. I have explored using the email hook to push new items to my intranet but the email hook does not allow the formating of the new item as the Channel reports provide.

I know there is a mysql hook to insert new items in the DB and do whatever from the DB but I do not have mysql expertise either.

- Using the current channel reports I need to go back to Awasu every nigh to "mark item as read" for the channels so that the new reports generate todays new items. (I could not find a way to automate this)

I would be very grateful to have integrated feature in Awasu that would deliver the above.

Yes, the Pro Edition has no restriction on how often channel reports can be generated.


A few people have been asking for this so I'll put the following in for the next release:
- ability to either group items by channel (i.e. the current behaviour) or just as a single stream of items.
- ability to automatically mark items as read.

I'm pretty busy with another project right now (you may have noticed the chirping crickets on the weblog) but if you need this in a hurry, send us an email (support@awasu.com) and we can talk about expediting things.

Help "About Awasu" displays - Professional Edition 2.3

I changed the setting for a previously configured channel report -"Automatically run the report"
Every "15 minutes"

I get a notification "Reports cannot be generated more than once an hour"

Any thoughts?

Ah bugger, this is my misteak I misread the source code and it turns out that the Pro Edition is the same as both the Personal and Advanced Editions - there's a limit of running reports once per hour.

This is an oversight and I'll change things so that reports can be run more frequently in the Pro Edition. So that you're not disadvantaged by this, I'll ship out a special version with this change in it and if you give me a day or two, I'll also add the other things I mentioned above for your testing pleasure...
