Importing/exporting channels

Awasu provides a powerful and flexible way of sharing information with other feed readers [1] such as Bloglines or Google Reader.

This is useful if you use more than one feed reader and want to keep them synchronized, or if you are changing from one to another. It can be done by either communicating directly with the other feed reader or via OPML [2].

Info
Support for synchronizing with third-party feed readers is not installed as standard. Plugins can be downloaded from here and more will be made available as other feed readers make their services available.

Exporting channels

Exporting channels Choose Export to... from the File|Synchronization menu to show the main Export dialog.

Choose where you want to export your channels to in the Export to droplist at the top of the dialog.

Then choose which channels you want to export.

Configuring additional export settings Click on the highlighted button to configure additional settings.

Importing channels

Importing channels Importing channels is a two-step process.

Choose Import from... from the File|Synchronization menu to show the main Import dialog.

Choose where you want to import channels from and enter any other required information.

Importing channels You will then be shown the channels and folders from the other feed reader and asked to choose which ones you want to import (any channels you are already subscribed to will be highlighted with a green tick).

If Quick-subscribe to new channels is ticked, the selected channels will be imported immediately using the default settings for new channels. Otherwise the Channel Wizard will be started for each new channel and you will be able to configure each one individually.
