Awasu 2.4 (5 January 2009)
The road from 2.3 to 2.4 was a long, but ultimately productive one.
Not only was there the usual slew of new features and bug fixes, a lot of work was done to make the existing features work better, faster and easier to use.
Reports and workpads and templates have always been Awasu's most powerful features, letting you export information out and forward it on, and a lot of effort was put into enhancing these areas.
Awasu also now offers tight integration with online services, both as a publisher and subscriber of information. This fits in perfectly with Awasu's goal of being an information hub: information comes in, gets analyzed and then acted on.
And we couldn't finish this year's retrospective without mentioning Awasu's ad-blocker. In a year where RSS has continued to explode in popularity, more and more people have been trying to "monetize" the technology by inserting incredibly annoying ads into every feed they can get their paws on, even into the feed reader programs themselves. We take them out
Again, many thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years and here's hoping you've all had as good a year as we have.
