The forums have just been upgraded and while most everything should continue to Just Work, if you are subscribed to any of the feeds, you will need to update your URL's. The one you probably want to use is this one which will monitor all activity in the forums.

I have to say, the new software looks quite nice. Working with the old phpBB2 was always a massive PITA but version 3 looks very slick. And before anyone berates me for waiting for so long before upgrading, we get a huge amount of spam and until recently, phpBB3 didn't have enough to help with the problem, nor were there many mods available either.

Anyway, have fun with it and let me know if you see any weirdness... 🙄

The 2.4.3 beta release [?] is now available here.

It's been a long slog since 2.4.2 but we've finally made it and this release is definitely one for the power users. Full CRUD functionality for both channels and reports is now available as well as some funky enhancements to the search engine that allow search results to be filtered.

There are also some enhancements to user tools that open up a whole new range of possibilities, and I know that the Awasu Monster is on the verge of releasing some very cool extensions.

We're on the home straight to the next general release - woo hoo! :jig:

The second 2.4.3 alpha release [?] is now available here.

The major addition in this release is the ability to create and update channels via the HTTP API. Channels and reports can also be deleted, which completes the full CRUD capabilities for both channels and reports. I know a lot of people are using Awasu to monitor the net for mention of their company, competitors, etc. and so the ability to create channels (especially search channels) and reports on the fly, in response to what they are finding, is of enormous benefit.

There are also new features for the less hard-core of you, in particular, support for JavaScript user tools. At first glance, this might not seem like such a big deal but their addition means that it becomes even easier to integrate Awasu with third-party services by allowing it to extract information out of a page and do something with it. And since it's JavaScript, you could even manipulate and change the page itself! User tools have also been tweaked to make it easier to call the HTTP API and integrate Awasu with, um, Awasu 🙄

Expect a deluge of user tools to be forthcoming from the Awasu Monster [1] very shortly... 😀

The next alpha will tie up a few loose ends and that'll be the 2.4.3 release...

[1] I recently had a conversation with the AM and mentioned that every time I put out a new feature, he immediately thought up some weird-ass way of using it that I had never thought of. Well, for the record, I'd like to state that this time I think I've beaten him to the punch. How about this: a user tool that calls the HTTP API to create a search channel based on the currently-selected text. Set the user tool to {%APP-SERVER-URL%}/channels/create and its POST data to <channel type="search"> <searchQuery>{%SELTEXT%}</searchQuery> </channel>.

By George, it works! :jig:
