Awasu » Awasu 2.2.4.alpha1 released
Sunday 3rd September 2006 9:33 AM [Awasu News]

The first 2.2.4 alpha release (what's this?) is now available here.

The main new addition is a completely revamped Import from OPML feature and a new built-in Export to OPML feature (although the old way of doing it as a report will still work). A lot of the infrastructure for sync'ing with online feed readers is also now in place and will be made available in coming alphas.

This release also starts the process of hardening Awasu against malicious content and supports, in particular, IE's new information bar and popup blocker.

I am more concerned about Memory management. My IE and FF hangup on me if the number of windows open are more and that needs a reboto when such situation occurs.

I hope you have paid attention on this part in the new release.

2.2.3 included a lot of optimizations so the first thing to do would be to upgrade to that version. Memory usage generally hasn't been a problem for Awasu.

Awasu shouldn't affect Firefox so if it's having problems, my first guess would be that your PC just doesn't have enough memory. Of course, Firefox is well-known for being quite the memory hog itself... 🙂

Have your say
