Awasu » Awasu 3.0.2.alpha2 released
Saturday 20th September 2014 7:35 AM [Awasu News]

It's been a hectic few months, mostly building Awasu-based systems for clients, but the next release of our favorite feed reader is here!

Continuing on from the first alpha release, there's been a lot of optimization work done and Awasu really flies. And there's more to come in the next alpha! 😉

Other major changes include a replacement of the email engine, which works much better now (in particular, you can send emails through GMail, Hotmail and other third-party services) and a better crash handler that can automatically send crash reports.

Hopefully, you'll never see that last one 🙄

This is great news!
I never had any problems with the email engine, but more options is a good thing.

I'm looking forward to a time in the VERY near future when I'll have more time to finish some of my half-completed Awasu Extensions, and create a few more.

Thanks again for creating Awasu and continuing to update/improve it. I'd hate to live in a world without Awasu.

Quite a lot of people are using Google services for running web sites and email, which is kinda annoying since they don't quite work the same as running your own infrastructure, but it is what it is  and I've updated Awasu to support it. I'm definitely glad to see the back of the old (third-party) email code - it's some of the worst I've ever seen :-/

IIRC, today's the big day? I trust a big party is in the even-nearer future 😀

And thanks for the support. Awasu was built for extensibility, so it's good to see people taking advantage of that 🙂

Yes, you recall correctly! Yesterday was a big day... the goodbyes/exit after 33 years, today is the first day of freedom!

And while I have already extended Awasu in the past, and plan on releasing more extensions in the future, I've found that Awasu is fantastic right out of the box; there's already a lot of awesomeness built in... by you. Thanks again!!!
